- Legenda: Harare (Zimbabwe), 18/04/2016.- A scavenger carries a bag as he searches for recyclable materials at the Geo Pomona Waste management site in Harare, Zimbabwe, 28 March 2024. When fully operating in 2026, the waste management site will transform the Pomona dumpsite into an urban waste management facility, eventually producing 16 megawatts of electricity from methane generated from rotting waste. The electricity will be fed to the national grid to remedy, in part, to the frequent blackouts in Zimbabwe which relies on energy imports from Mozambique, South Africa and Zambia. The plant is located on the huge Pomona dumpsite, where scavengers make a living combing through the waste. (Sudáfrica, Zimbabue) EFE/EPA/MUNASHE CHOKODZA ORG XMIT: EA4733
