Sarmada (Syrian Arab Republic), 16/02/2025.- Displaced people walk at Kawkaba camp for displaced people, near the town of Sarmada, Syria, 16 February 2025. According to Dr. Muhammad Fares, Director of the Medical Program at the health organization 'Doctors of the World' in Syria, Sarmada Health Care Clinic was providing health care services to 35,000 people and was closed due to the US President Trump's administration's decision to halt foreign funding. Fares added that over 950,000 individuals, primarily residents of displaced camps, are left without access to health care services, due to the closure of 12 medical centers in the Idlib and Aleppo countryside, a result of the withdrawal of support from the United States Agency for International Development.
