- Legenda: KARACHI (Pakistan), 05/04/2025.- Lawyer and founding member of the 'Joint Action Committee for Refugees' Moniza Kakar leaves the district and sessions court in Karachi, Pakistan, 05 April 2025. Approximately 800,000 Afghan citizens in Pakistan face uncertainty as a mass deportation campaign began on April 1, affecting not only undocumented individuals but also holders of Afghan Citizenship Cards (ACC), who previously lived legally in the country. The Pakistani Ministry of Home Affairs has urged all illegal aliens and ACC holders to leave voluntarily by 31 March 2025. Currently, about 1.45 million Afghans possess Proof of Registration (PoR) cards, allowing them to remain in Pakistan until at least June 30, following an extension. Reports from Human Rights Watch indicate that Afghan refugees are experiencing pressure and demands for bribes from authorities to avoid expulsion amid rising violence in border areas linked to the Taliban's return to power in Afghanistan.
