Number of foreign visitors to Japan surpass the 20-million mark in just six months for the first time ever
TOKYO (Japan), 16/07/2025.- Tourists visit the Yasukuni Shrine during the annual Mitama Festival in Tokyo, Japan, 16 July 2025. According to data released by the Japan National Tourism Organization, the number of foreign visitors to Japan in June reached 3,377,800, a 7.6 percent increase from the same month last year, marking a record high for June. In the first half of 2025, total arrivals hit 21,518,100, exceeding the same period in 2024 by more than 3.7 million and surpassing the 20 million mark in just six months for the first time ever.
