- Legenda: SANA'A (Yemen), 18/06/2025.- Visitors walk through a corridor of the National Museum in Sana'a, Yemen, 18 June 2025. Over 2,600 Yemeni artifacts have been smuggled and sold abroad due to the fragile security situation since the conflict broke out in the Arab country in 2015, according to the Yemen's Antiquities and Museums Authority. Over 800 looted artifacts were turned over to the Sana'a-based National Museum after being recovered from local collectors and smugglers over the past 16 years, the museum authority reported. The objects, dating back to different time periods between BCE and the Islamic era, include funerary stelae, carved and inscribed stones, pieces of alabaster statues, metal-works and manuscripts collected from different archaeological sites throughout the ancient history of the Arab country.
